Postemergence
mesosulfuron + thiencarbazone (Osprey XTRA)
Rate 0.013 to 0.018 lb ai/A (3.2 to 4.75 oz/A Osprey XTRA)
Time Apply to winter wheat from wheat emergence to the two-node stage. Apply to wild oat from one-leaf to two-tiller growth stage, and to windgrass up to 3 inches. See label for application timing and weed size.
Remarks Use the 4.75 oz/A rate except 3.2 oz/A may be used for wild oat, windgrass, and Persian darnel. Treat heavy infestations of grassy weeds before they compete with the crop. Use only a non-ionic surfactant and a nitrogen source for adjuvants. Do not apply Osprey XTRA more than once per crop year. For Italian ryegrass, wild oat, Persian darnel, and windgrass control; and downy brome, jointed goatgrass, ventenata, and rattail fescue suppression.
Caution For winter wheat only.
Site of action Group 2: acetolactate synthase (ALS) inhibitor
Chemical family Sulfonylurea
quizalofop (Aggressor)
CoAXium wheat with the AXigen trait only
Rate 0.055 to 0.0825 lb ai/A (8 to 12 oz/A Aggressor)
Time Apply postemergence to CoAXium wheat with the AXigen trait after 4-leaf but prior to jointing. Apply when weeds are actively growing and before grasses exceed 4 to 5 leaves.
Remarks Applications must include a surfactant. Apply nonionic surfactant at 0.25% v/v, crop oil concentrate up to 1% v/v or 2% under arid conditions, or methylated seed oil up to 1% v/v.
Caution Use only on CoAXium wheat varieties with the AXigen trait. Temporary height reduction or slight leaf yellowing may occur after application; effects can be more pronounced under environmental stress. Do not apply more than 16 oz/A per crop cycle or more than 12 oz/A in a single application. Do not make a second application within 14 days of the first application. Do not harvest treated wheat for forage or hay within 60 days of the last application. Do not tank mix with dimethylamine salt formulations of 2,4-D or MCPA. To prolong the utility of CoAXium wheat and the AXigen trait, do not use the CoAXium Wheat Production System for 2 consecutive crop cycles.
Site of action Group 1: acetyl CoA carboxylase (ACCase) inhibitor
Chemical family Aryloxyphenoxypropionate
