Pest description and crop damage Translucent to yellow, teardrop-shaped mites (roughly 0.006 inch in length) that are difficult to see without the aid of a 10X hand lens. Mites feed on the surface of leaves. Feeding may cause a silvery appearance on the foliage and may lead to premature leaf drop.
