Note: There have been several fungi associated with Linden cankers by the OSU Plant Clinic. Fusarium lateritium, Phoma spp., and a Phomopsis sp. are among the most likely pathogens. Alternaria (stem canker) and Phytophthora (bleeding canker) have also been found. They might be primary pathogens or opportunistically colonizing wounded tissue.
